OKARA: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra or Journal of Languages and Literature ( ISSN 1907-624X and E-ISSN 2442-305X) is a peer-reviewed journal published biannually by Pusat Pengembangan Bahasa of Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Madura, in collaboration with ELITE Association Indonesia. Embracing a wide range of academic disciplines in the social sciences, humanities, and cultural studies, the journal publishes manuscripts oriented toward a scholarly readership and written to be accessible to non-specialists. Karsa: Jurnal Sosial dan Budaya Keislaman also refers to research and social issues that specialize in the Islamic culture and humanities of the different states and ethnic groups including (Islamic groups) of Southeast Asia and Western Europe. An integral part of the journal’s mandate is to foster scholarship that is capable of bridging the continuing divide in area studies between the social sciences, anthropological studies, philosophy, political issues, sociology, and humanities, on the one hand, and the Islamic studies, cultural studies on the other hand. Jurnal Sosial dan Budaya Keislaman engages in wide-ranging and in-depth discussions that are attuned to the region's issues, debates, and imperatives while affirming the importance of learning and sharing ideas on a cross-country, global, and historical scale. This journal aims to promote excellent, agenda-setting scholarship and provide a forum for dialogue and collaboration both within and beyond the region. Karsa intended for a regional as well as global readership. Since 2015, Karsa: Jurnal Sosial dan Budaya Keislaman has reflected the Islamic State Institute of Madura’ strong commitment to publishing the best of theoretical or empirically grounded, multidisciplinary, and contemporary research, especially in ethnic or socio-cultural studies and related areas on Asia and Europe. It has been nationally accredited since 2018 by the Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education of Republic Indonesia. KARSA (E-ISSN 2442-4285) is a peer-reviewed and open-access journal (SINTA 2) journal published by the State Islamic Institute of Madura or IAIN Madura.
